Misunderstandings.

[I miss my best pals]

This is one of the times where I miss my best pals from school days
Miss them for accepting who I am
Knowing me and trusting me

With them I can voice out my thoughts
Do what I want
And even if the words come out wrong
Or my actions are so misleading
They know that whatever I say or do
Is not to harm them

Even when I make mistakes
Or when I do things that seem wrong
My best pals will always know that
I mean no harm

Many people told me work life is like a battle field
Where I can never really find a true friend
Cos' you can't trust your colleagues
Or even if you do they won't trust you totally
Cos' as long as you do something that is wrong
They will choose to leave you rather than be with you

I thought that is nonsense
Cos' I truly believe otherwise

I want to be more confident
And tried to speak out
For what I feel is right or wrong
Not to attack anyone and mean any harm

Maybe it's time
To just keep my mouth shut
Even if I feel something is wrong
Or when I feel something is not right
In the game of work

Because what I feel
Might be totally wrong to others
And only my closest best pals
Will truly understand
And forgive my mistakes

Cos' in the working world
People are not so understanding
As long as your opinion differs
As long as you voice your differences out
To other people

They are not going to trust you totally
No matter how close you can be

Somehow I have learnt
The good people in the game of work
Are supposedly the ones
Who never voice their thoughts
To anyone but themselves

I feel that it is safer this way
To be someone who only mind my own business
Cos' you will never know
What you have said or done
Is wrong in other people's eyes

And in the game of work
People aren't that understanding
Or that forgiving
And it's a place where I can't trust
To make mistakes
Or voice out my thoughts

I really do miss my best pals from school days
Whom I don't even have time to meet
But always trusting me
And allowing me to grow
