Happy mid autumn!

Well, I haven't celebrated mid autumn in years!

I remember I used to love this festival, from the time that I know about this festival, which I always call it the lantern festival, to the time I am old enough to feel that carrying a lantern is uncool, to no special feelings towards this festival as I am busy with school/work/can't be bothered anyways.

I used to love it when I was young! (feeling damn old now). I called it the lantern festival cos that's the whole point of mid autumn festival. No lantern=no fun.

I remembered the colourful cheap paper ones as well as the hip musical battery operated ones. From the paper ones, which I got to hold a while when I was young(cheap but so called dangerous fire hazard) to my favourite cartoon ones. There were also those transparent coloured paper ones! I wonder if it still exists... Ahh.. The nostalgia..

Anyways, I remembered going to Chinese garden, which is damn near my house, to see those colourful lanterns and decorations! Ahhh... Nostalgia again...

So today, earlier on, me and my friend wanted to visit Chinese garden to re live the memories again. Yes, as you grow older, you find yourself more nostalgic than ever... Remember those days when you...

Oops, I digress. Maybe I should blog about you know you are getting old when you...

Ahh.. Digress again. Anyway, my point is, I didn't know Chinese garden has an entry fee!

I must be so blissful as a kid. Everything is paid for me so much so I don't even remember there was a fee, either that or I remembered it was quite cheap... You see you know you are old when.....

Ok I digress again. But what I want to rant about is this. How can a bloody entrance fee for Chinese garden to see decorations and lights and some fireworks cost us 12 bucks for adults!???!! Even children were not let off! 8 bucks per child!!!

It's like the management of Chinese garden saying "oh since nobody visits Chinese garden at other times of the year so let's make use of this opportunity to charge sky high fee so as to cover our expenses for the whole year".

I thought it's owned by government or something?!! So expenses paid by government right? Then is our gar men so poor!!

I have evidence ok!

Did you see that??? I'm not kidding ok?

In the end being the cheapo that I am, I didn't go in. There goes my nostalgic experience. We were not the only cheapos ok? There were a lot of poor families who just had their lanterns and did their own mini mid autumn celebration with candles and all just before the entrance as if to protest--- WHY SO EXPENSIVE? WE CAN STILL CELEBRATE AND SEE YOUR BEAUTIFUL LIGHTS AND DECORATIONS FROM OPPOSITE. (for your info, there is this mini river between the entrance to chinese garden, so a mini bridge is the only way to go in from entrance).

Anyways, we saw lots of families wondering if they should go in..

Oh well. At least the moon is beautiful. Proof that I went and seen the full moon. That's the point too right? Full moon? Think everyone is more obsessed about the chinese garden than to see the moon.
